Knowledge Modeling in K-Infinity Concentrate fully on your content: With the Knowledge Builder, users can build and expand a Knowledge Network on their own, without requiring special IT knowledge. Here, by means of interactive graphics, new knowledge objects can be created and modified, relationships created between the objects and attributes defined.

The Graph Editor (left image), a working view of the Knowledge Builder, provides a complete view of the network of relationships between objects. The Knowledge Builder (right image), here in Editor view, allows fully co-operative work. For instance, two Knowledge Engineers can share the graphical view of the Knowledge Network in a window in order to discuss particular matters. In addition, the access rights and appearance of the Knowledge Network in the frontend are configured with the Knowledge Builder.
Import from other databases  The principle of Knowledge Networks is to integrate information – and for this reason, the transfer of data from other systems, such as customer or project databases, plays an important part. With the Knowledge Builder's Import and Export Mappings, the user can easily define how the columns of a table are to be mapped onto objects and relations of the Knowledge Network.
Inferences  It is one of semantic technology's greatest strengths that it can draw conclusions from existing knowledge. Using a simple formalism, the user can state the rules by which a direct conclusion is to be drawn from an existing indirect connection. If a company is located in Darmstadt, the system can conclude from this that it is a Hessian, German and European company. If an employee has overall responsibility for a project as Project Leader, it follows that he also has overall responsibility for all sub-projects. Even if these conclusions appear obvious, it is important that a research system can actually carry them out when, for example, you're searching for projects at German companies.
